This Wednesday Items magazine will present their annual graduation edition at Pakhuis de Zwijger in Amsterdam. The central theme is design education in the Netherlands. There will be live presentations, graduation projects on show and representatives from academies and the ministry of education. Soepboer and Stooker will present a clothing exchange in collaboration with WORN_RELICS©. Visitors will once again be able to exchange a pre-loved item and its story for something new, this time amidst healthy discussion about the strengths and weaknesses of design education.

Here’s a wonderful way to make your favourite jacket, dress or T-shirt even more unique. On the 8th of November you can bring you garment to Frascati in Amsterdam and ‘turn it into couture’ with a perfectly round and beautifully finished hole! Seamstresses will be present to transform your special item with this simple subtraction and in doing so you’ll be taking part in the creation of a collection. The holes are completely free and courtesy of masterandcreatorandcouture created by Simon de Boer.

Berber Soepboer and Anne Stooker
are opening a new shop/studio/gallery called
SOEPBOER & STOOKER: garments and textiles.
At Soepboer & Stooker WORN_RELICS© takes the form of a ‘swapshop’ where you can bring a pre-loved item of clothing (and its story) and exchange it for something new! You will be asked to write down the story behind your piece of clothing so that the new owner takes home not only a new outfit but also a little piece of its history.
A WORN_RELICS label will be sewn into each piece of pre-loved clothing so that its unique story can be followed online.
There will be an opening tomorrow night with an exhibition featuring a collection by Hyun Yeu and photography by Blommers/Schumm, so pass by and have a look! The shop will stock collections by BLESS, Christian Wijnants, Marloes Blaas, Bianca Speijk and more to come!

We all know those forgotton treasures hidden in our wardrobes that we don't wear anymore but can't bare to throw away. Until the 22 Febuary you can donate these pieces of clothing to ‘GLAMOUR Detox Your Wardrobe’ at the Bijenkorf department store in Amsterdam. All the items will be auctioned or sold on 1 March including items donated by celebrities! Everyone who donates will have the chance to win a shopping spree and the profits of the sales will be donated to Mama Cash, a charity for women's rights. Just like on WORN_RELICS© you are asked to tell the story of your clothing item so don't miss the auction and let's hope you are inspired to add your purchase including its history to the WORN_RELICS© archive. The 10th Edition of the Amsterdam International Fashion Week will take place from 24th January – 01 February at the Westergasfabriek. The Catwalk shows are by invitation only.
